Brianne Kirbyson was born and raised in the small town of Vineland, Ontario. As a child, she spent many hours in pursuit of any activity that was artistic or creative in nature. But growing up, other interests made their way into her life and developed into new passions: first dance, then horses, and finally math and the sciences. Brianne went on to study Biological Sciences at the University of Guelph. While enduring the stresses of university life, she began taking various art classes at the Guelph School of Art, which allowed her to rediscover her love of art-making. After graduating from university in 2012, Brianne headed to Florence, Italy, to study the methods of the masters in classical realism at the Angel Academy of Art. Having recently returned from Italy after completing the 3-year programme, Brianne spends her time creating new works of various subject matter, including landscapes, portraits, still-life and the human figure, in both charcoal and oils.
