VAL WEST
(Ridgetown) With over 30 years of taking "family pictures", I decided it was time to hone my photographic skills. My background of floral design has given me an appreciation of composition. I am one of the original members of the Hot Shots Camera Club of Ridgetown. Seeing my worked published in "Chatham Kent through the eye of the camera" was a thrill and a lure for improvement. Only in the last couple of years have I taken the time to really see what is in front of the lens and compose a piece of art. I love to create a feeling in the lens and see the finished print. I found when I had my work printed to canvas it opened a whole new dimension of photography to me. Now it has become a passion to create that perfect picture. To me photography is an ever-changing form of art. A recent showing of my photography in London at the opening of "Digital Fortress" and the opportunity to showcase a piece in the newly formed "ARTspace" in Chatham, has also boosted my enthusiasm to do more. ![]() PRIVATE RETREAT Val West (Ridgetown) Photograph on canvas 30 x 20 inches Sit back and relax.
