JENNI-RAIE MERRITT
(Thamesville)
JR grew up as a third generation inhabitant of the Merritt family farm in Chatham Township. Growing up rural can be a challenge for youth and during her teen years JR pined for a life of city dwelling. However, after spending 4 years in Windsor to complete her Bachelor of Social Work, JR grew to appreciate the peacefulness and beauty of a rural existence. Each spring she waits in anticipation for flowers that remind her of country living, and each summer she eagerly awaits the ripening of the mulberries, cherries, apricots and other fruit trees that have been lovingly planted by her great grandparents. JR is currently considering returning to school for photography after a working vacation to Ireland in September of this year.

CITY DWELLER FINDS INNER RURALITY

Photograph
5 x 7 inches

The luxury of playing in the cornfield is an essential component of a rural existence. This photograph captures my city friend on my family farm. We spent the afternoon eating mulberries and wild raspberries, running away from horseflies, and trying to get lost in the field. $ 150
