IRENE MACCREADIE
(Wallaceburg) I am a graduate of University of Windsor, B.F.A, painting major. My current work is concerned with layering our history on a surface. The jumping off point is usually an historical photograph of local people and their relationship to the land. As a person who has lived part of my life in Glasgow, Scotland and then emigrated to Wallaceburg, Canada, I feel a connection to historical images of people from the area and how they connected and adapted to the landscape. ![]() KENT HEYDAY Irene MacCreadie (Chatham) Mixed media 32 x 53 inches This piece came about after working on an exhibit at the Wallaceburg Museum concerning the local history of sugar beet farming. Archival photographs of past times literally add a film over the present landscape. The images in the background are current and juxtapose with the historical images revealing current issues related to our area. $450 *FIRST PLACE WINNER* < Back |
