EMILY GAMMAGE
(Ridgetown) I was born and raised in Chatham-Kent. My passion for art began at an early age. I became fascinated with form, figure, features and space. What started as interest grew into a desire to capture the emanating qualities and characteristics of people as well as things. My main areas of expertise are oil painting, photography as well as charcoal drawing. I have a passionate eye for landscapes and figurative work. I teach art to adults and children. ![]() OLD HOME, NEW CENTURY I Emily Gammage (Ridgetown) Photograph 10 x 15 inches This is a visual investigation of an abandoned house on #3 highway. In our area there are many abandoned houses as a result of the shift of human needs. Old houses are sometimes abandoned due to the increasing value of farmland over the existing house. Some older houses represent a different time in family living when rooms were smaller, accessories were simpler and interior design was something that was left for the rich and elite. I drive by this old house at least twice a week and each time I am intrigued. I wonder who once lived in the house, what memories were created and the history the house holds. Once a brick house now stripped of its armour, it still stands tall and proud - weathered by use and age. $ 125 < Back |
